Swords ‘lifting’ hopes of top junior weightlifters |

 Junior weightlifting guru and coach Tim Swords keeps those National Junior Champions coming. Each year Swords adds a few more champs and record holders.
The League City resident already has 20 juniors winning national titles – and counting.
All the training and coaching is done from his League City home.
At the moment Swords has 40 students he is training for competition, including several local high school athletes who have done well in meets.

 On Thursday, March 25, Rick Adams, President of USA Weightlifting, announced that Houston has been awarded the National Junior Championships. The event will take place in late February of 2011 at the Greenspoint Marriott. Houston is thrilled to host such a prestigious event and support the olympic sport of weighlifting in our community. |
